Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued the Notice on Publishing the List of the First Batch of Pilot Construction of Virtual Teaching and Research Section, and identified the first batch of 439 national pilot construction sites of virtual teaching and research section. Altogether 9 projects from our university were selected, among which there is the construction project of "Virtual Teaching and Research Section of Advanced Mathematics Courses of Tongji University" declared by our college.

The Advanced Mathematics Teaching and Research Section of our university has inherited the fine tradition of several generations of mathematicians, such as Fan Yingchuan and Qiu Bozou, accumulated many teaching resources and successful experience, and has made a series of excellent teaching achievements in Advanced Mathematics. The virtual teaching and research Section is composed of excellent teachers from Tongji University, as well as the excellent Advanced Mathematics teachers from other relevant domestic universities. It develops and improves the "online+offline" combined teaching and research mode, building high-quality teaching resource library, high-quality teaching achievements library, and high-quality teacher training resource library. It will focus on the improvement of Tongji Advanced Mathematics textbooks, motivating the mutual development of a large number of domestic universities using Tongji Advanced Mathematics textbooks, so as to promote it to a higher level. At the same time, the Teaching and Research Section will continue to build a teaching and research platform that adapts to the characteristics of Advanced Mathematics teaching and improve the teaching platform, relying on the national first-class courses of Advanced Mathematics in Tongji University, and is expected to popularize the outstanding achievements across the country.

It is reported that the selection of the first batch of pilot construction of virtual teaching and research Section is to implement the spirit of documents such as the Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Accelerating the Construction of High level Undergraduate Education and Improving the Ability of Talent Cultivation in an All round Way, the Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Deepening the Reform of Undergraduate Education and Teaching and Improving the Quality of Talent Cultivation in an All round Way, explore and promote the construction of new basic teaching mechanism, explore the construction standards, construction path and operation mode of new basic level teaching mechanism in the "intelligent+" era. The virtual teaching and research section, with the fundamental task of moral education and cultivating people, the core of improving talent training ability, and the support of modern information technology, explores and builds a new type of basic teaching mechanism, to create an atmosphere of mutual promotion and competition for teachers' teaching development, and guide teachers to return to the nature of teaching, love teaching, research teaching, and improve education and teaching ability, so as to provide strong support for the high-quality development of higher education.
