On May 19, 2021, the 13th Shanghai Popular Science Award Ceremony was held in the Science Hall. Five people, including Zhang Wenhong, from Huashan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, won the title of the winners of the 13th Shanghai Popular Science Award. Five people, including Professor Liang Jin, from our college, won the Nomination Award of the 13th Shanghai Popular Science Award.

Professor Liang Jin has been adhering to the work of mathematical science popularization for many years, and has written many popular science books such as Mathematical Code in Famous Paintings, Andante like a River, Flowing through the Museum, Poetic Mathematics, Nature is a Math Teacher, and participated in planning and acting in TV popular science films such as The Impossible World, The City of Mathematics, and All Things are Math. Since 2015, Professor Liang Jin has made a lot of popular science lectures and exchanges in libraries, communities, schools, radio stations, etc., and vigorously promoted the beauty of mathematics. She combines mathematics with art, makes mathematics change from rational to emotional, makes it easier for the public to feel the beauty of mathematics, and makes outstanding contributions to the cause of science popularization in Shanghai. As described in the awarding speech, "Mathematics is an abstract and logical discipline. She preached and taught on the platform, and also integrated mathematics into famous paintings and poems. She helps more people to conquer the difficulties to explore the infinite charm of mathematics."

Established in 1995, Shanghai Popular Science Award is the first municipal science popularization award in Shanghai, which is selected every two years. Now, it is jointly established by Shanghai Science and Technology Association and Shanghai Science and Technology Development Foundation to commend individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the cause of science popularization in Shanghai, promote the development of science popularization in Shanghai, and improve the scientific literacy of Shanghai citizens.
