Boundary Integral Method for the Electrostatics in Biomolecule SimulationsSolving the Poisson/Poisson-Boltzmann (PB) equation with varying coefficients has been a bottleneck for simulating proteins within the framework of implicit solvent model due to the dielectric inhomogeneity. In this talk, we will present our recent work on a numerical Boundary Integral Equation (BIE) method for calculations of electrostatic fields in systems consisting multiple proteins in solvent. The BIE is further coupled with treecode for fast kernel summation, and is applicable to arbitrary shaped dielectric interface. Numerical results about the accuracy and efficiency will be discussed, we also show interesting phenomenon that the induced charge on the dielectric interfaces can significantly change the interaction energy of solvated proteins.干则成 博士致远楼102室2017年7月10日14:00-15:00

Linear Stabilized Semi-implicit Schemes for the Nonlocal Cahn-Hilliard Equati...In this paper, two linear stabilized semi-implicit schemes with first and second order temporal accuracy respectively, are proposed for solving the nonlocal Cahn- Hilliard equation. In both schemes we treat the nonlocal diffusion term implicitly and the nonlinear chemical potential part explicitly, and add an artificial term for the sake of stability. The energy stabilities and error estimates of the schemes are rigorously established in the time-discrete sense. Numerical Analysis of Elliptic Hemivariational InequalitiesInequality problems in mechanics can be divided into two main categories: that of variational inequalities concerned with convex energy functionals (potentials), and that of hemivariational inequalities concerned with nonsmooth and nonconvex energy functionals (superpotentials). Through the formulation of hemivariational inequalities, problems involving nonmonotone, nonsmooth and multivalued constitutive laws, forces, and boundary conditions can be treated successfully. Multiplication Formulas and Semisimplicity for q-Schur SuperalgebrasBy investigating products of certain double cosets for the symmetric group, we derive some multiplication formulas for the q-Schur superalgebras. This gives a combinatorialisation of the relative norm approach developed in an earlier work by Du and Gu. We then give several applications of the multiplication formulas, including the matrix representation of the regular representation and a semisimplicity criterion for q-Schur superalgebras. Sharp Fundamental Gap Estimate on Convex Domains of SphereIn their celebrated work, B. Andrews and J. Clutterbuck proved the fundamental gap (the difference between the first two eigenvalues) conjecture for convex domains in the Euclidean space and conjectured similar results holds for spaces with constant sectional curvature. In several joint works with S.Seto, L. Wang; C. He; and X. Dai, S.Seto, we prove the conjecture for the sphere. Namely for any strictly convex domain in the unit $S^n$ sphere, the gap is $/ge 3/frac{/pi^2}{D^2}$. As in B. Andrews and J.
